During the months where there is a shift in the temperature (from hot to cold), my skin tends to be extra dry and flaky, especially on the face. And it requires me to moisturize even more. But at most time of the year, I'm pretty much combi.
I was carrying this rationale when I bought Tomato Whitening Serum. And yes, I was still after Skinfood's membership card during those days.
This is the serum from Skinfood's Tomato Whitening Line. I got this from the mall store and it costed me P1,650 (roughly $39.51) for a 35ml of serum. This is one of the fast moving products in their skin care line (even faster than the toner from the same line). So when I saw it, I had to grab it right away!
Skinfood claims that:
This serum is packed with fresh tomato extracts which contains a variety of natural organic acids, vitamins and minerals to clear and clarify dark skin
The serum only comes in pump, hard plastic bottles. So you can drop it numerous time without breaking it. It's also good for those who are particular in dipping their hands into the product. Though, you might not get every last bit, and you wouldn't know if you're almost out of the product due to its opaque casing. I had to pop the pump right off to get every last bit (which only lasted for 1 use) - this is how I learned that Skinfood's pump bottles sort of gets almost every drop of the serum.
The serum is a pearl-white lotion. The picture above is a result of an almost full pump. It smells similar to the Tomato Whitening Toner, but a little better (less the hint of alcohol). The scent doesn't make me sneeze. For those who have sensitive noses might think twice in getting this.
The picture above shows how it is when spread out. It takes around 3-4 full pumps to cover my entire face and neck. It is somewhat moisturizing, but not enough for those extremely dry days. This is good for combi to oily skin, but dry skinned ones (especially those who flake), may need more moisture. This didn't give me acne nor any form of allergic reaction.
So did it whiten me? It actually does whiten after prolonged use, but it works best with its toner. It didn't make me extremely whiter, just 1-2 shades down. However, it gave me this blooming, refreshed look which I love.
I did buy it again. In fact, I'm at my third serum. It's relatively cheaper to another whitening serum, Omija Whitening Serum, whitens more, and good for my combi skin.
I love this! But I'm still open to try out new serums out there. Who knows? I might find a better one in terms of price over quantity, good for my skin and whitens (even just a bit).
So have you tried this? Did you like it?
For those who are interested in the ingredients, I'm sorry but I can't provide them to you since it's in Korean. For those who could understand Korean, refer to the picture below:
Oh, I already opened my tube of The Face Shop's Rice Water Bright Cleansing Foam few days back. So I'll be coming up a review of it few days/weeks from now. I hope it fairs same, if not, better than with Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Foam Migamisu.
