If my face is combi (oily/normal or normal/dry), the rest of my skin would be dry to extremely dry. In fact, it's so dry that you can write your name on it. So moisturizing is very important. But as I had told you previously, I am very lazy when it comes to moisturizing most of the time.
One of the products I used since way back was The Body Shop's Olive Oil - Dry Oil Mist. And this is all thanks to my mom.
So when the store had a sale, I just had to grab this. Hello, 40% off!
Here's what The Body Shop has to say about this:
BACK OF BOTTLE: Easily absorbed, non-greasy all-over moisture with Community Trade organic olive oil to leave skin feeling soft and supple
WEBSITE: A spritz-on lightweight moisturisation with lustrous Community Fair Trade Organic Olive Oil from Italy. Can be used on wet or dry skin, absorbs immediately, and smells divine. For normal to dry skin. No added colour, which makes the product suitable for skin sensitive to dye.
- Lightweight moisturiser
- Non-greasy formulation
- Quick absorption
- Organic ingredients, suitable for sensitive skin
- Suitable for Normal / Dry skin
Like what I mentioned earlier, I was able to buy this when it was on sale. It costed me around P477 ($11.74). A bottle has a 100mL of the mist, which for the price I got isn't so bad. But I won't dare to buy this on its regular price.
This comes in a translucent, green plastic spray bottle. Nothing special here, really. It used to be housed on a really beautiful, slender transparent glass bottle, with a black spray mechanism. I wonder why they stopped producing it like that type of packaging. Could be because it's expensive?
Upon spraying, you have to slather it on you ASAP! Or else it will slide down. The oil is transparent and is highly scented. It is so scented that when I spray myself with this at 6AM, I can still smell this, though weak, at 6PM. Obviously, those with sensitive noses would this like this. I don't mind the initial notes of this oil since I find it relaxing and refreshing at the same time. But what I do not like is its smell few hours later.
Another thing quirky about this oil is that it doesn't get absorbed by the skin easily, even if you applied it when your skin is damp. I had to wait for a few minutes for my skin to absorb most of it before putting on pants. It is greasy, even 30 minutes later. However, this oil keeps your skin from drying the rest of the day.
Will I recommend this? This is a good moisturizer for drier, colder months. It lasts long and smells good too. But for humid months, you may want to think twice. It's not really lightweight, so you'd feel really greasy on those days. Plus, the scent of the oil is not so pleasant when mixed with sweat or humidity.
With that, I better finish my bottle fast! The cold months are about to end.
How about you? Would you use the conventional lotions or body oils for the drier months?
